Bud Brigham is an energy entrepreneur having founded several primarily upstream energy enterprises, two of which have been sold for combined proceeds of approximately $7 billion. Currently active enterprises include Brigham Minerals, which pursues mineral acquisitions in top tier shale domestic shale resource plays, and Brigham Exploration, which is also active in top tier shale resource plays pursuing non-operated working interests. Brigham also founded Atlas Permian Water and Atlas Sand, which are pursuing water and sand infrastructure projects in the Permian Basin. Brigham Development is a real estate enterprise acquiring and developing surface real estate in active US shale plays.

Bud founded Brigham Exploration Company in 1990 and served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board until its sale to Statoil ASA in December 2011. As founder and CEO, Bud managed Brigham Exploration Company’s rapid growth as a private company from an initial investment of $25,000 in 1990 to its initial public offering in 1997, and its subsequent sale in 2011 for $4.5 billion. Bud subsequently founded Anthem Ventures as a family enterprise, and teamed with others to found Brigham Resources for oil and gas investments primarily targeting operated horizontal drilling and fraccing projects in domestic unconventional reservoirs. Brigham Resources was sold in February 2017 to Diamondback Energy Inc. for $2.55 billion.

Prior to Brigham Exploration, Bud served for six years as an exploration geophysicist with Rosewood Resources, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Bud began his career in Houston as a seismic data processing geophysicist for Western Geophysical, a provider of 3-D seismic services, after earning his B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Texas. Bud has served on the National Petroleum Council, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Independent Producers Association of America (IPAA), the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES), and The Bureau of Economic Geology Visiting Committee. He was inducted into the All American Wildcatters in April 2012, and in April, 2015 Bud accepted and joined the University of Texas Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee.

Hunter Wallace


Prior to joining Atlas Sand, Hunter was a member of the newly formed ATX Energy Partners (former Brigham Resources Team) as their VP of Operations.  Hunter had been a part of the successful Brigham Resources Company as the Drilling and Completions Manager, where he was in charge of planning and executing all 58 grassroots wells of the company in the very Southern edge of the Delaware Basin; these efforts culminated in a successful sale of the assets to Diamondback Energy in 2017 for $2.55 billion.  Prior to that Hunter served as a Senior Drilling Engineer for Pioneer Natural Resources on South Texas Eagle Ford Team, and before that was a Drilling Engineer for XTO Energy in East Texas working mostly the Bossier, Cotton Valley, and Haynesville pay zones.  Hunter received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M.

John Turner


John has over 20 years of oil and gas industry experience.  Prior to assuming his current role, John worked in various capacities for both public and private entities, with a focus on corporate finance, business development and strategic planning.  Collectively, John has participated and advised on over $2 billion of capital market transactions, including mergers, restructurings and special situations.  John received a B.B.A. and MBA from the McCombs school of Business at the University of Texas.

Jon Tutuncu, Chief Commercial Officer

Jon joined Atlas Sand in 2022 to lead the advancement and execution of the company’s commercial strategy across all business areas. With over 30 years of leadership experience in B2B segments such as industrial automation, healthcare, software and transportation, Jon oversees commercial growth and customer satisfaction at Atlas Sand. He most recently worked at Honeywell Intelligrated, where he led global sales, commercial excellence and customer experience teams delivering industrial internet of things, robotics and advanced automation solutions to customers worldwide. Previously, Jon held various executive leadership roles with General Electric’s Healthcare and Transportation businesses overseeing organic and inorganic growth initiatives.  Jon holds an MBA degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University.

Jeff Allison, Executive VP OF SALES AND MARKETING

Jeff brings over 20 years of executive US onshore oilfield sales and operational experience to the Atlas Sand Team.  Prior to joining Atlas Sand in 2022, he held various executive leadership positions within Halliburton over a 20 year period with defining roles as Executive Account Vice President with oversight of strategic clients  and accountability of all geographies, products & services, technology and commercial growth, and as Mid-Continent Area Vice President where he led Halliburton business delivery in the area with accountability over business development (sales), operations, financial performance, HSE, capital execution, and personnel development.  Previously, Jeff held various leadership and strategic roles with Baker Hughes INTEQ, Afognak Native Corporation and Conoco both domestically and internationally, and served on several industry advisory boards throughout his career.  Jeff received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.




Chad was one of the founding members of Hi-Crush Proppants (2010) / Hi-Crush Partners LP (NYSE: HCLP) and served as a corporate officer and on the executive management team. From 2012 to 2015, Chad led Hi-Crush’s efforts in developing greenfield plants and brought to market 9 million tons of annual production from three plants in Wisconsin. Additionally, during this time he served as VP of Operations for the WI plants. In 2015, Chad assumed responsibility for all commercial activities related to transload operations and services, customer sales, and business development as Vice President, Commercial and Distribution. Chad was also instrumental in the development of the PropX last mile containerized proppant delivery system that was commercialized in late 2016.  From that point, Chad also led the last mile delivery operations and marketing to deliver sand directly from a mine to the blender at the well site. Mr. McEver has been in the oil and gas industry for over 18 years in various capacities including investment banking, consulting and operations.  Chad received a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Denver.


Chris brings over a decade of proppant industry & supply chain experience to the Atlas Sand team.  Chris most recently worked at Hexion, Inc. where he held various leadership roles focusing on supply chain management. In 2015 he was named the Supply Chain Director leading the end to end supply chain and transformational growth plans.  Having spent time in Hexion’s Oilfield Technology Group, Chris was responsible for active business management and overall business strategy.  Previously, Chris worked at corporate headquarters driving global initiatives within the business and supporting supply chain process integration of Hexion M&A activity.  Chris received a B.S. degree in Supply Chain & Information Systems from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA with concentrations in Operations and Finance from The College of William & Mary.


Kirk brings over 17 years of broad oil and gas experience to the Atlas Sand team.  Previous to his current role, Kirk worked in various human resources leadership capacities for both private and public companies.  Kirk has had extensive experience leading organizational transformations.  Most recently Kirk was the Vice President of Human Resources for Axion Logistics where he was responsible for the development and delivery of all human resources and people strategies.   Kirk has worked in all major oil field plays for Baker Hughes, Tetra Technologies, and Calfrac Well Services throughout the Western Hemisphere with responsibilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, and Argentina.


Shaam joined Atlas Sand in 2022 to lead the technology and cyber security function.  He has over 20 years of technology leadership experience in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Automotive and Transportation industries, delivering digital transformation across enterprise applications, automation, and field operations. He most recently worked at Hyliion, an electrified trucking company in a dual CIO and CISO role, where he delivered vision, strategy, and digital transformation initiatives to achieve aggressive commercialization timelines. Previously, Shaam held leadership roles at Marathon Oil, Woodside Energy, Jonah Energy and C-Suite position at New Fortress Energy. Shaam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Houston and attended Rice University and MIT’s Sloan School of Management for graduate studies.
